Reverse Osmosis (RO)
Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology that removes impurities by pushing water through a semipermeable membrane. The process works by applying pressure to water, forcing it through the membrane, which blocks contaminants like salts, bacteria, and larger molecules, leaving purified water on one side and the impurities on the other.
Advantages of RO Systems:
The following steps are involved in basic wastewater treatment:
- Pre-filtration: Water goes through pre-filters to remove larger particles, chlorine, and sediments that could damage the RO membrane.
- RO Membrane: The water is then pushed through the RO membrane, which removes dissolved solids, bacteria, and other impurities.
- Post-filtration: Some RO systems use post-filters to further purify the water, improving taste and safety.
